Men United Cup in aid of Prostate Cancer UK
The Leonard Gray Llamas football team were ‘on tour’, on a surprisingly warm Sunday evening, on 29th September 2013, competing in the Men United Cup in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The tournament was held at Goals Soccer Centre, Ipswich, far flung from the Llamas home turf.
Despite a valiant effort from the team, we were sadly knocked out in the group stage, on goal difference, with three of the four teams in our pool, including ourselves, all locked together on equal points. The boys deserve particular credit for their final game, a 3-2 win, which represented the second part of a double header and required grit, stamina and a steely determination.
One man dies of prostate cancer every hour.
