Leonard Gray in Race4Business 2015: Results/Photos
As we reported last month, Leonard Gray entered a team of five worthy athletes(?) in Chelmsford’s Race4Business 2015, which took place on 18 June 2015.
In what turned out to be a fairly hot and humid evening, over 1,000 runners raced through Chelmsford’s town centre and Central and Admirals Parks in an effort to raise money for the race sponsor and our chosen charity partner, Age UK Essex.
Chris Kelly, Partner at Leonard Gray and Trustee/Director of Age UK Essex, said after the event: “As a Leonard Gray partner and a Trustee for our chosen charity, Age UK Essex, I am extremely pleased with the money that has been raised this year.
“Jean Robinson is the Head of Income Generation at Age UK Essex and has done a sterling job with the organisation and fundraising.
“Through my work as a Trustee I see how important it is to raise money to enable the effective care of older people and to encourage independence, choice and opportunity for older people.”
Fellow runner Jade Harvey, Paralegal at Leonard Gray, added: “I really enjoyed taking part in the Race4Business 2015.
“This was my first attempt at a 5km race and I was pleased with all the donations and support received.
“I’m hoping that we will have raised over our target of £300 for Age UK Essex, who are the chosen charity of Leonard Gray.”
Here are how Chris, Jade and their fellow competitors finished:
Oliver Grech: 26:04 mins
John Appleby: 27:07 mins
Chris Kelly: 29:05 mins
Clive Burrell: 30:57 mins
Jade Harvey: 31:08 mins
Overall, our above group of runners finished 60th out of the 91 teams that registered for the event.
Once again, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has kindly made a donation to Age UK Essex so far.
You can, however, still show your support by visiting our Virgin Money Giving page.
Here are a few photographs from the big day itself:
Thank you again for all your generous support. It’s back to the gym for our runners now!
